The Web Encyclopedia of Kyiv (WEK) is one of the oldest websites entirely dedicated to the Ukrainian capital Kyiv. It was launched in 1998 and since then has become one of the most popular websites about Kyiv. The WEK is often quoted by tourist agencies on their websites and print ads. The website is available in Ukrainian only.

The WEK uses a technology that allows the visitors themselves to easily add, remove, and otherwise edit and change available content, even without the need for registration. Since June 2005 the website has been powered by the open-source MediaWiki platform, which is by far the most user-friendly solution that enables free and open work of the users themselves on the content of the WEK's pages.
